AFCON 2025: Alebiosu returns to Super Eagles training ahead of Algeria clash

Ryan Alebiosu has returned to full training with the Super Eagles ahead of their quarter-final encounter against Algeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The defender trained with the rest of the squad in Marrakesh on Thursday evening following the team’s arrival from Fes, offering a timely boost for head coach Eric Chelle.

Alebiosu had been sidelined after sustaining a cut to his right leg during Nigeria’s final Group B match against Uganda. The injury ruled the 24-year-old out of the Round of 16 tie against Mozambique.

His return to training suggests he is close to full fitness, with further conditioning expected during Friday night’s session as Nigeria finalise preparations for the decisive clash.

The Super Eagles face the Desert Foxes of Algeria on Saturday at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, with a place in the semi-finals at stake.
