Gombe United have confirmed the appointment of Coach Yusuf Salihu as the club’s new Technical Adviser as preparations begin for the second stanza of the 2025/26 Nigeria National League season.
The Savannah Scorpions announced the decision in an official statement on Monday, describing Salihu as a tactically astute coach with a strong record in player development and team building.
Salihu joins Gombe United from Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club of Ilorin, where he served as Technical Adviser and led the team through the first stanza of the ongoing NNL campaign. He is expected to resume duties in Gombe in January as the club intensifies preparations for the remainder of the season.
The club’s management stated that the appointment reflects its determination to strengthen the technical department and improve the team’s performances in pursuit of long-term success.
Gombe United also expressed confidence in Salihu’s leadership qualities, discipline, and football philosophy, noting that his arrival is expected to have a positive impact on the squad.
The club welcomed the new Technical Adviser and wished him success as he begins his tenure.
