Akwa United have released nine players as part of a squad restructuring ahead of the second stanza of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League season.
The players shown the exit door are Anietie Uko, Erikan Francis, Lazarus Ebuka, Itebu James, Joshua Unoro, Babatunde Omosebi, Onhanedo Onyedikachi, Emenike John and Emmanuel Ita.
Some of the affected players have already secured new clubs. Anietie Uko has joined Tanzanian side Mbeya Kwanza, while Erikan Francis has moved to Heartland FC on loan.
The Promise Keepers have also strengthened their squad with the arrival of five new players as preparations intensify for the second phase of the campaign.
Akwa United are aiming for an improved run of results when the second stanza of the NNL season begins on 14 February 2026.
