Supporters of Enyimba have voiced concerns that the club could be dragged into a relegation battle following another disappointing result in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The record nine-time NPFL champions fell to a 1–0 defeat against Ikorodu City in Aba on Sunday, a result that has intensified pressure on the team.
Enyimba now sit 14th on the NPFL table with 31 points, a position many fans believe is unworthy of the club’s pedigree.
Reacting after the match, several supporters warned that continued poor performances could see the People’s Elephant slide further down the standings.
“Enyimba is now giving away points in Aba,” Chukwuemeka Onwuka told Daily Post, expressing frustration at the team’s home form.
Other fans, including Chimaobi Williams, Godwin Kalu and Benet Nwachukwu, said they were shocked that the side remains inconsistent despite working with four different coaches this season.
Some supporters also called on club chairman Kanu Nwankwo and the players to improve results swiftly or face possible changes at the club.
With the season entering a decisive phase, pressure is mounting on Enyimba to rediscover their form and steer clear of danger.
