Rangers International F.C. secured a 2–0 victory over Wikki Tourists F.C. in their NPFL Matchday 26 clash, with both goals arriving in the first half at the Cathedral in Enugu on Sunday.
Wisdom Ebirim opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Godwin Obaje doubled the advantage on 33 minutes, punishing defensive lapses from the visitors.
Rangers asserted control early, capitalising on Wikki’s loss of focus despite a promising start from the Kaura Boys. The home side’s clinical edge in front of goal proved decisive.
Wikki showed greater urgency after the break, pressing higher up the pitch and displaying improved organisation in midfield. However, their second-half resurgence failed to produce a breakthrough as Rangers held firm to secure maximum points.
Speaking after the match, Wikki head coach Bashir Saleh admitted his side paid the price for a dip in concentration.
“We started well at kickoff but quickly lost concentration, which gave Rangers the advantage. It’s a lesson we are taking home for correction ahead of our next home game,” Saleh said.
