Five quarter final places remain undecided as the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2025/26 group stage reaches its climax this weekend.
Only three of the eight knockout tickets have been secured ahead of Matchday Six. Pyramids FC, Al Ahly and Stade Malien have already booked their places in the last eight. The remaining contenders have 90 minutes to decide their fate.
In Group A, Pyramids top the standings with 13 points and will host Power Dynamos with qualification secured. The race for second place is tight, with RS Berkane and Power Dynamos level on seven points. Berkane face eliminated Rivers United and must win to guarantee progression. Power Dynamos need a better result than the Moroccan side to advance due to an inferior head to head record.
Group B sees Al Ahly safely through on nine points. AS FAR sit second on eight points, three ahead of Young Africans. Al Ahly host AS FAR in a contest that could decide top spot. Young Africans must defeat already eliminated JS Kabylie and rely on other results.
Group C is finely balanced. Al-Hilal Omdurman lead with eight points, followed by MC Alger on seven, Mamelodi Sundowns on six and St Éloi Lupopo on five. All four teams remain in contention. Hilal host Lupopo, while Sundowns take on MC Alger in a decisive encounter in South Africa.
In Group D, Stade Malien have confirmed top spot with 11 points. Esperance Tunis and Atlético Petroleos are level on six points and meet in a direct battle for qualification. Simba, already eliminated, conclude their campaign against Stade Malien.
With five quarter final places still open, Matchday Six promises drama across the continent.
