Kwara United F.C. will seek a vital home victory against Rivers United F.C. in a rescheduled Matchday 22 clash of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Wednesday.
The encounter will take place at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the George Innih Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 4.00 pm.
The Harmony Boys head into the fixture desperate for points following a disappointing outing against Kano Pillars F.C.. Despite a spirited display, the result left supporters and players frustrated as the club’s battle for survival continues.
Head Coach Ashifat Suleiman has, however, assured fans that the team has responded positively in training and made key tactical adjustments ahead of the high-stakes meeting.
“We are not losing focus or discouraged by recent results,” Suleiman said. “Despite our efforts, this moment provides us the opportunity to restrategise and return to our rightful form.”
Kwara United will also be boosted by the return of Shola Abdulraheem, Adeshina Gata and Ini Emmanuel from injury, providing added depth across the squad.
Rivers United hold a slight advantage in previous league meetings between both sides, but Suleiman believes Wednesday’s contest offers his side a fresh opportunity to change their narrative.
With the visitors positioned near the top of the table and Kwara United fighting at the lower end, the fixture carries significant implications at both extremes of the standings.
