Sunshine Stars Football Club have commenced an open screening exercise for players seeking to join the team ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season.
The initiative was announced by the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) as part of efforts to strengthen the squad and increase competition within the team before the start of the new campaign.
According to the agency, the screening exercise began on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the ODSFA Games Village along Oda Road in Akure.
Chairman of ODSFA, Divine Ogbonnaya, said only players who demonstrate outstanding quality and commitment will be considered for selection.
Sunshine Stars Head Coach Duke Udi also assured prospective players that the screening process would be transparent and based strictly on merit.
Udi encouraged interested players from all positions to participate, stating that the opportunity is open to anyone with the talent, confidence and determination required to compete at professional level.
The former international stressed that there would be no favouritism during the exercise and invited aspiring players to join the club's technical crew at the ODSFA Games Village on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. for screening and training sessions.
He expressed confidence that the exercise would help uncover talented players capable of contributing to the club's objectives in the forthcoming season.
