Former Enyimba winger Chidiebere Nnachi has apologised to Enyimba's Chairman, Kanu Nwankwo (OON), after featuring in a video accusing the People's Elephant of owing players' salaries.
According to sources, Nnachi was among a group of players allegedly persuaded by content creator Prince Worlu to record the video, which claimed Enyimba had failed to pay their salaries.
The club, however, swiftly dismissed the allegations in an official statement, maintaining that no salaries were owed to the players involved.
In a message sent to Kanu, Nnachi reportedly admitted he had been deceived by a man he did not name, as well as former Enyimba captain Kalu Nweke, into taking part in the video. He expressed regret over his actions and sought the Chairman's forgiveness.
Sources further revealed that the winger recently underwent trials at Abia Warriors but was unsuccessful. He is now said to be hoping for a return to Enyimba, the club that discovered him while he was playing for a local academy and handed him his first major opportunity, including appearances in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Nnachi's contract with Enyimba expired in May 2026. Although he reportedly believed he was entitled to a salary for June, sources say he has now acknowledged that his contract had already ended and that the claims made in the video were false.
When contacted for comment, Enyimba maintained its earlier position, insisting its official statement addressed the matter and adding that the truth behind the players' allegations would become clear in due course.
