Governor Alia Pledges Full Support for Lobi Stars, Promises Brighter Future



The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the success of Lobi Stars Football Club during a surprise visit to the team’s training camp at McCarthy Stadium, Makurdi, on Thursday, January 23, 2023.



Accompanied by the club’s Chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, and other dignitaries, Governor Alia assured the players of his unwavering support and pledged to help the club achieve greater success. Addressing the team, he stated, "This administration means well. When the season started, the road was rough, but now you have people who can take you to the promised land.”

The governor also promised to expedite the club's return to their home ground, expressing confidence in a brighter future for Lobi Stars. “This is just the first phase of Lobi Stars. I assure you that going forward, you will have a new narrative. You will rise to greater heights,” he said.



The club’s Technical Adviser, Daniel Amokachi, thanked the governor for his visit, pledging the team’s cooperation in achieving the administration’s vision. On behalf of the players, Captain Solomon Kwambe promised to deliver strong performances that would make the state proud.

As Lobi Stars gear up for their second stanza opener against Heartland FC in Owerri this weekend, Governor Alia’s visit has reignited optimism and determination within the team.
