Wikki Tourists technical adviser Abdullahi Maikaba has attributed his team’s 1-1 draw against Abia Warriors to fatigue caused by travel challenges.
The Bauchi Elephants fought back from a goal down to secure a point at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Wednesday. Abia Warriors’ Chukwuemeka Obioma opened the scoring before Taheer Abubakar levelled for Wikki Tourists.
Speaking after the match, Maikaba praised his players for their determination despite the difficulties.
“Fatigue really affected us in the game because of our travel arrangements to Umuahia,” he said. “The result really impressed me because the boys showed determination despite our challenges.”
With the draw, Wikki Tourists climbed to 13th place in the Nigeria Premier Football League standings, earning 27 points from 23 matches.
